Laundry Life Lessons

laundryPeople have a difficult time seeing things from someone else’s point of view. They hesitate to delegate a despised task because they wouldn’t want to do it so they wouldn’t want to trouble someone else with a hated task.

But delegation isn’t punishment.

Now what if you could hire someone that loves {hated task}? They are out there somewhere. I used to date a guy who would come home from work and fold laundry to calm his nerves! I probably kept him around longer than I should have just because of my sheer hatred of laundry.

So you hate doing this task… they love it. And they do it better and faster.

And you get the laundry folded as a bonus.

Integration and a Huge Mess in My Own Kitchen

Integration

I talk a lot about the importance of Integration and Grounding as steps in energy clearing. Integration itself is an act of putting energy and things “back where they belong”, or organizing them more efficiently. Kind of a leap in thinking for energy and soul work. But recently it’s a literal, physical lesson I’ve been learning.

My partner moved in with me in February. With that came a lot of learning points, how to work our schedules, how to work around one or both of us being sick, how to function when both of us had surgery within a week of each other (one planned, one emergency), and surprisingly, how to integrate our households. I thought “No big deal. David isn’t bringing any furniture, or large things. I organize other people’s houses *all* the time.”

Well **EFF** was I wrong. For 6 weeks, there was stuff everywhere. It’s been several months and somethings still don’t have a place. Read more

Clearing Money Blocks

Lucky Bitch Money Bootcamp- You might have heard of it. If you haven’t, at it’s base, it’s a 6 week intense course on breaking through money blocks (like that having money is a horrible thing), and bringing awareness to where your life just isn’t working. It’s become one of my “secret” tools for gratitude and awareness.Short and sweet, the course is closing and going through a major upgrade itself (and price increase.)

My personal experience with this course has been very enlightening. I’ve manifested pay increases, clients, free plane tickets, free hotels, and I win giveaways all the time. Beyond the initial allure of money, the course goes so much deeper into a healthy, comfortable mindset on life.In 2010, someone- I don’t even remember who- shared a link on Twitter to a free call on romantic relationships and clearing relationship blocks. It was late in the evening, and I clicked over and started listening. Halfway through the call, I purchased her course for $45.I was one of 8 or so people in the course, and I got a free coaching call with Denise Duffield-Thomas for registering. Five years, and I vividly remember that entire call. We found blocks that were affecting every part of my life, not just my relationships.

In 2011, when Denise initially released her book, Lucky Bitch, I read it within hours, and then she released her Lucky Bitch Money Bootcamp. For the first round of the bootcamp, I didn’t have the money to buy it (imagine that). So I listened to all of her free webinars (she’s doing another on upgrading your business on July 21st) and soaked up as much as I could from the wings. Read more

Kindle Trick to Save Money

I read a LOT of books. Sometimes as many as 300 a year. My daughter is 8 and she also reads a lot. We cannot afford to buy all the books we read. We leverage our local public library and the university library where I’m an alumni quite a lot, as well as the READS ebook system.

I pay for Kindle Unlimited when I’m reading several books off Unlimited in one month.

When I first got my Kindle Paperwhite, I would buy book that I knew I wanted to read (eventually). Now I only buy a book if I know I will read it immediately, or if it’s deeply discounted (or free).

Wishlist Tip

When I add books to my Goodreads, I also add them to a Kindle Wishlist. (You can see mine here.)
